Terms of Use

The rules for using Statiks, connecting Spotify, importing listening history, and accessing Statiks Plus.

Last updated August 4, 2026

01

Provider

Statiks is provided by Anton Sarg, sole proprietor, Pichlacker 2/2, 6161 Natters, Austria. Email: anton@statiks.app.

02

Scope

These Terms of Use apply to the use of the Statiks app, the statiks.app website, and the related backend services.

By using Statiks, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use Statiks.

The terms of the platform through which you download or use Statiks also apply, in particular the terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play. Spotify features are also subject to Spotify’s terms.

03

What Statiks Is

Statiks is an app for Spotify listening statistics. You can connect your Spotify account to view your top tracks, top artists, top albums, recently played music, and other statistics.

With Statiks Plus, you can import your Spotify Extended Streaming History as a ZIP file. After a successful import, additional features are unlocked, such as long-term statistics, trends, timelines, listening patterns, and top 100 lists.

Statiks is not an official Spotify product. Statiks is not affiliated with Spotify AB and is not supported, reviewed, or operated by Spotify.

04

Requirements for Use

To use Statiks, you need a Spotify account.

You may use Statiks only if you are legally permitted to do so under the laws of your country. If you are a minor, you may use Statiks only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian where such consent is legally required.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is correct and that you connect or import only your own Spotify account and your own Spotify data with Statiks.

05

Spotify Connection

Many features require Statiks to access certain Spotify data, such as your top lists, recently played tracks, and playlist features.

The connection to Spotify is made through Spotify login. You can manage or revoke permissions through your Spotify account.

If you revoke the Spotify connection or Spotify restricts access, certain Statiks features may no longer work or may work only in a limited way.

06

Statiks Account

When you log in, a Statiks account is created or an existing account is reconnected.

You are responsible for protecting your device and your access. If you suspect that someone has unauthorized access to your account or device, please contact us at anton@statiks.app.

You can delete your Statiks account in the app. This deletes your account and the related data unless statutory retention obligations or legitimate reasons require longer storage.

07

Free Features

Statiks may provide free features, for example displaying your Spotify top lists, recently played tracks, detail pages for tracks, artists, and albums, Share Cards, and playlist features.

The exact feature scope may change. There is no entitlement to specific free features remaining permanently available.

08

Statiks Plus

Statiks Plus is the paid area of Statiks.

Statiks Plus unlocks additional features once your Spotify history import has been completed successfully. These include in particular long-term statistics, stream counts, listening time, trends, timelines, listening patterns, profile statistics, and top 100 lists.

Important: Statiks Plus requires a completed import of your Spotify Extended Streaming History. Without a successful import, Plus features cannot be used or can be used only in a limited way.

The import also depends on you receiving the correct file from Spotify and uploading that file completely, readably, and in the supported format.

09

Purchases, Subscriptions, and Lifetime Access

Statiks Plus may be offered as a subscription or as a lifetime purchase. The specific products, prices, terms, and currencies available are shown in the purchase dialog of the Apple App Store or Google Play.

If you start a subscription, it renews automatically unless you cancel it in time through your App Store or Google Play account.

Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds for in-app purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Statiks does not receive complete payment data.

If you cancel your subscription, your access usually remains active until the end of the already paid period. Deleting the app or uninstalling it does not automatically end a subscription. You must manage the subscription through your Apple or Google account.

Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

10

Importing Your Spotify History

If you upload your Spotify Extended Streaming History, you are responsible for being authorized to use that file and transmit it to Statiks.

Statiks processes the file to create your personal music statistics.

The import may fail, for example if the file is not the correct Spotify export file, is damaged or incomplete, is too large, contains no supported JSON data, Spotify changes the export format, or technical problems occur.

Statiks does not guarantee that every Spotify export can be imported completely or that all Spotify data is displayed exactly as Spotify processes it internally.

11

Accuracy of Statistics

Statiks tries to display your listening statistics correctly and understandably.

However, statistics may be incomplete, delayed, or different. Reasons may include limitations of the Spotify API, delays in retrieving Spotify data, missing or incomplete Spotify export data, technical errors, changes to Spotify data formats or API rules, and estimates such as playback duration or skip detection.

Statiks is intended for personal analysis and entertainment. The app is not intended for business-critical, financial, medical, legal, or other decision-making.

12

Playlist Features

Statiks may allow you to create Spotify playlists or add tracks to existing playlists.

When you use these features, Statiks sends the data required for the action to Spotify. Changes to your Spotify playlists occur only when you trigger the corresponding action in Statiks.

You are responsible for playlist names, visibility, and the content of your playlists.

13

Share Cards

Statiks may create Share Cards from your top tracks, top artists, or top albums.

You are responsible for how and where you share these Share Cards. If you share content through third-party apps, the terms and privacy rules of those providers apply.

14

Permitted Use

You may use Statiks only lawfully and as intended.

In particular, you may not misuse, disrupt, or overload Statiks; bypass security mechanisms; access third-party accounts or data without authorization; upload third-party Spotify data; perform automated requests, scraping, or reverse engineering unless expressly permitted by law; transmit malware, manipulative content, or unlawful data; or use Statiks for actions that violate Spotify terms, app store rules, or applicable law.

We may restrict or block access to Statiks if there is a reasonable suspicion of misuse, security risks, or violations of these terms.

15

Availability and Changes

Statiks is operated with reasonable care. Nevertheless, the app may be temporarily unavailable, for example due to maintenance, updates, server problems, network problems, Spotify restrictions, or third-party provider issues.

We may further develop Statiks, change or remove features, or add new features. In the case of material changes to paid features, we will take your legitimate interests into account appropriately.

16

Third-Party Providers

Statiks uses and connects to third-party providers, in particular Spotify, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Firebase Crashlytics, and PostHog.

These services are also subject to their own terms and privacy information. Statiks does not have full control over the availability, data processing, or decisions of these third-party providers.

If Spotify, Apple, Google, or another third-party provider changes its services, interfaces, rules, or prices, this may affect Statiks.

17

Rights to Statiks

Statiks, including design, code, texts, trademarks, logos, and other app components, is protected by copyright and other rights.

You receive a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Statiks within the scope of these terms.

You do not acquire any rights to the source code, trademarks, or other components of Statiks except where required for normal use of the app.

Spotify, Spotify logos, music data, cover images, and other Spotify content belong to Spotify or the respective rights holders.

18

Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, we may use them to improve Statiks without owing you compensation. We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

19

Privacy

Information about which data Statiks processes and which rights you have can be found in our Privacy Policy: https://statiks.app/privacy

20

Liability

Statiks is liable without limitation for damage resulting from injury to life, body, or health and for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.

In cases of slight negligence, Statiks is liable only where essential contractual obligations are breached and only for foreseeable, typical damage, to the extent permitted by law.

Liability for data loss exists only to the extent that the damage would also have occurred despite appropriate and regular data backups, where such limitation is legally permissible.

Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

21

Warranty

Statutory warranty rights apply.

However, Statiks does not guarantee that the app will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all future versions of Spotify, iOS, Android, Apple App Store, Google Play, or other third-party providers.

22

Termination

You can stop using Statiks at any time by logging out, revoking the Spotify connection, deleting your account, or uninstalling the app.

If you have a paid subscription, you must additionally cancel it through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Deleting the app or your Statiks account does not automatically end an App Store or Google Play subscription.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access if you violate these terms, misuse Statiks, or legal reasons require it.

23

Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms of Use if this is required due to new features, legal changes, technical changes, or security reasons.

The current version is available at any time at https://statiks.app/terms.

If changes materially affect your use, we will inform you in an appropriate manner. If you continue to use Statiks after the changes take effect, the amended terms apply.

24

Applicable Law

Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected.

25

Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve questions or complaints directly and simply. You can reach us at anton@statiks.app.

We are not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board unless there is a statutory obligation.
